Alice & Tom's Intimate Legal Ceremony at St. George's Hall
An Intimate Celebration
When Alice and Tom planned their intimate legal ceremony at St. George's Hall, they wanted florals that honoured the significance of the moment. With just their parents in attendance, this September morning was a chic celebration - modern, refined, and deeply personal. Alice envisioned a smaller, more cascading version of her wedding bouquet, whilst Tom and their fathers would wear simple yet sophisticated buttonholes, and their mothers would be honoured with delicate wrist corsages.
The Design Process
Having already designed the plan for Alice & Tom's wedding florals at One Fine Day, we understood her aesthetic perfectly - clean lines, sculptural blooms, and that effortless city-chic elegance. For the legal ceremony, Alice wanted to carry the same design language but in a more intimate scale, appropriate for the formality of St. George's Hall and the smaller guest list.
We adapted her original floral palette - soft olive, muted sage, creamy neutrals, and crisp white - keeping the sophisticated tonal approach that had defined her wedding vision. The goal was continuity: florals that would feel like a natural precursor to her larger celebration whilst standing beautifully on their own.
Bridal Bouquet
The Floral Story
Alice's legal ceremony bouquet featured the same premium ingredients as her wedding design - white calla lilies and anthurium for bold architectural shape, white orchids for refined delicacy, and trailing amaranthus for graceful movement. However, this version was crafted smaller and with more pronounced cascade, creating an elegant, flowing silhouette perfect for the intimate occasion. We also used cymbidium orchids rather than phalaenopsis orchids to stay in line with a (naturally) smaller budget that is typical for legal ceremonies.
Each bloom was positioned to showcase the sculptural quality Alice loved, whilst the increased cascade gave the bouquet a softer, more romantic feel than her wedding version. We finished it with white ribbon that perfectly matched her outfit, maintaining that polished, intentional aesthetic.
Buttonholes
The Floral Story
Tom's buttonhole mirrored the design from his wedding day - a single white calla lily paired with structured soft ruscus, a bit of seeded eucalyptus, tied with black ribbon. Simple, sculptural, and confidently modern, it complemented the formality of St. George's Hall whilst maintaining visual harmony with Alice's bouquet.
The fathers' buttonholes followed the same refined approach, creating a cohesive look across the small wedding party. Each buttonhole was crafted to feel polished and intentional without competing for attention - exactly right for the occasion.
Wrist Corsages
The Floral Story
For Alice and Tom's mothers, we created delicate wrist corsages featuring lighter blooms from the main palette. Designed to sit elegantly without feeling too formal or fussy, these special touches honoured the important women present for this meaningful moment. The corsages were crafted to be comfortable throughout the ceremony and celebration that followed.
Maximizing Impact
Alice's priority was ensuring her legal ceremony felt special and considered, even with a smaller guest list. Every floral element worked together to create a refined, cohesive look that felt appropriate for both the grandeur of St. George's Hall and the personal nature of the day.
The Result
On their September morning at St. George's Hall, Alice and Tom celebrated their legal marriage surrounded by their parents and florals that felt perfectly suited to the moment - elegant, intimate, and refined. The cascading bouquet brought soft movement to Alice's modern aesthetic, whilst the buttonholes and corsages ensured everyone in attendance felt honoured and included. Every stem was chosen with intention, every detail considered, and the result was exactly the understated elegance Alice and Tom had envisioned.
